At the end of April we launched a COVID-19 fundraiser, lead by our community and welfare officer, Megan. We are living through unprecedented times, where our front line workers put their lives at risk to help us; so we initiated this fundraiser with the hope of helping them!
#kitoutforcorona was the hashtag we created to spread our fundraiser and to raise awareness for the NHS and their PPE crisis. We encouraged people to share a photo of them in their PlayerLayer sports kit with the hashtag, to donate £5 to our JustGiving page and to nominate their friends to do the same.
We have our kit, let's help the NHS get theirs!
The support received was immense - far greater than we hoped for - leading us to increase our goal TWICE!
In total we raised an amazing £356 from 55 different supporters!
All money raised is to go to NHS Charities Together, where it can be used to support our NHS heroes during this difficult period.
A HUGE thank you to all those who participated and donated to this cause, the outcome was incredible and would not have been possible without you!
Lastly, a special thanks to the other Edinburgh University sports clubs, including Ladies Rugby, Gymnastics and Women's Football and Futsal, who donated and helped to spread the fundraiser!!
